About

My name is Mark Young, and I live in the Cincinnati area. Actually, I live in Northern Kentucky, butmy house is exactly 3 miles from downtown Cincy. I am a Christian minister who has grown weary of tradional, orthodox beliefs and churches, and feels called to begin a more progressive dialogue, with the possibility of a Progressive congregation. I believe in the primacy of God’s grace and love. I believe the being human is a good thing, a wonderful thing. I believe that God loves us, absolutely, just as we are, no matter what. That being said, I cannot believe that God would allow most human beings to die and go hell for eternity, just because of what they believe or don’t believe. I reject the whole concept of hell and damnation, based on a solid understanding of the Bible and what Jesus actually said.

I believe the Bible cna help us understand the character of God, but it has been used way too much for evil. The Bible is much too complicated to offer us a “simple” faith. Faith is too important to be simple. I believe the Bible can and should be read, argued with, interpreted, re-interpreted, and questioned, if we are going to have any chance at understanding what God wants us to know.
